Host Django in Canada.
Push a Django app and Canner runs it in Montréal: it finds manage.py, installs your requirements into a virtualenv and starts gunicorn against your WSGI module. Run migrations with a release command, and use the managed Postgres that comes with every project. Free to start.
Facts checked
Django on Canner
- A
requirements.txt,pyproject.tomlorPipfile(and nopackage.json) makes it a Python project;manage.pymarks it as Django. - Dependencies install with pip or uv into a project-local virtualenv, on Python 3.11.
- Canner starts gunicorn against your WSGI module on the port it assigns.
- Set
python manage.py migrateas the release command under Settings → Build. It runs before each new version starts. - Every project has a Postgres database; its connection string is in
DATABASE_URL.
Check before you deploy
- Add your
canner.apphost or custom domain toALLOWED_HOSTS, or Django answers 400. - Serve static files from the app itself, for example with WhiteNoise, since there is no separate web server in front of gunicorn for them.
- Heavy ML dependencies such as torch need the Live plan.

Questions
Do I need a Dockerfile or a Procfile?
No. Canner detects Django from manage.py and your dependencies, and starts gunicorn itself.
Can I use Celery?
Not as a separate worker process yet, and Canner does not run Redis. Scheduled jobs can call a URL in your app on a cron schedule.
Is it free?
Starter is free and includes Postgres; projects sleep after 3 hours idle. Live is $9 a month and keeps two projects always on.
Deploy your Django app.
Starter is free, Postgres included. No card required.
