Host Next.js in Canada.

Push a Next.js app and Canner runs it in Montréal as one long-lived next start process: websockets, streaming and in-memory state behave as they do on your machine, ISR works, and .next/cache survives between builds. Managed Postgres included, free to start.

Facts checked

Next.js on Canner

  • Canner runs your install and build script, then next start on the port it assigns. App Router and Pages Router both work.
  • Commit your lockfile (package-lock.json or the pnpm, yarn or bun equivalent).
  • Variables are present at build and runtime; anything the browser needs is NEXT_PUBLIC_ and is baked in at build time.
  • ISR and revalidate work, with the cache on local disk. For a CMS-driven site, tag-based caching can serve pages from Canner’s cache between publishes.
  • In a monorepo, set the project’s root directory to the app’s folder.

Check before you deploy

  • Vercel-specific features (Edge Middleware on Vercel’s network, Vercel KV and Blob) need a replacement; standard middleware runs in next start.
  • output: "standalone" is fine but not needed.

Questions

Does Vercel have a Canadian region?

Yes, since January 2026: Montréal (yul1). Functions still default to Washington, D.C., and Vercel’s regional failover can send traffic outside Canada. Vercel is a US company.

Is it serverless?

No. Your app is one long-lived Node process, so websockets, streaming responses and in-memory state work like next start locally.

Is it free?

Starter is free and includes Postgres; projects sleep after 3 hours idle. Live is $9 a month and keeps two projects always on.

Deploy your Next.js app.

Starter is free, Postgres included. No card required.
